Summer and LAMP Teams
The grass is green, the leaves are out.
The geese have their trail of goslings following along behind and full blown
summer isn’t far behind. So also is the beginning of LAMP VBS / Sports
team ministries. At this point we have ten communities scheduled for
VBS. Please pray as we are having some last minute challenges with
some of these communities. In one community, facilities are a
challenge. In another, we have just lost a team that was to be there. One
community had staff changes in the community and the local church, so we needing
to confirm our arrangements with new staff. Each year we face similar
challenges. God’s faithfulness in the past inspires us to trust Him again. We
greatly need your prayers as we connect with the local people, trusting God to
make the way.
Bible Study In Kitwanga
We are so encouraged by what God is doing in the
community of Kitwanga. We continue to see new people coming on a
regular basis and the response of the group has been very positive. Please
pray God will continue to touch hearts in the midst of these studies.
Pray they will see the love and mercy of God in a new light and be able to
respond more fully to Him. Pray for wisdom as we seek to involve people
so they see it as their Bible Study
and work together with us to establish a leadership team from within the group.
Youth Conference
Edmonton
We had the pleasure of travelling to Edmonton
May 24 – 28th for the YC Edmonton event. Four individuals traveled with
us and were a part of that conference. The main message of the conference
was summed up in the word, “surrender”. People were challenged to
surrender their lives to Christ and allow Him to take control. Two of
the young men who attended this conference stood to affirm their decision to grow
deeper in their relationship with Christ. We believe things of
eternal value were accomplished. Please pray God will continue His
work in these lives.
Another Baptism
It was just last month that we told you of the
baptism of Chucky O.; yet once again we are soon going to be having
another. Courtney G. was baptized in early June. She is
Billy’s wife. Billy was baptized on Easter Sunday a year ago. It’s
so wonderful as she now joins her husband in this declaration of her commitment
to Christ.
On a Personal Note
Just last month we received word that my wife, Korrin’s
father Abby Melanson had suffered a heart attack. This caused us
great concern as he had been deemed to not have a strong enough heart to go
through back surgery. We asked many of you to pray for him. The
Lord answered our prayer and yours as he had successful heart surgery. He
is back home and recovering well. Thank you so much for your
prayer. We are thankful to God for His faithfulness in this situation
and to you for your continued prayer covering over us and our family.
May God bless you! Partners together for the cause of Christ,
